On my summer to-do list, more outdoor parties and picnics! And an easy way to green-up these activities is to avoid using disposable paper and plastic plates. They also look gorgeous, and can be easily thrown in the dishwasher when the party’s over.

These new Sterling Bird Earrings from eco-friendly jewelry designer Figs & Ginger are so cute, we cannot stop looking at them. Seriously.

All Figs & Ginger jewelry is now made from recycled/reclaimed sterling silver, therefore taking advantage of existing metal supplies, and eliminating mining from the production process entirely. Additionally, while making their jewelry, they use all biodegradable and earth-friendly tools and materials, which is huge considering the many chemicals and toxins involved in traditional jewelry making. They are also building a solar powered studio in their backyard! We are happy to hear of all the excellent choices they have made, and truly are the greenest business we’ve ever seen.

We are excited to have Klaus Rosburg and his Brooklyn based Sonic Design in the shop! His Cuckoo Clock and Lost Cuckoo Clock are beautifully crafted from mirrored acrylic, giving a modern look to a classic design.

Also, given Klaus’s day job in package design, these clocks are impeccably packaged using recycled materials.

We have two great new wallets from DB Clay, just in time for summer. As always, these amazing wallets not only look gorgeous, but are eco-friendly from start to finish, biodegradable, extremely durable, and vegan.
